Athleta is Bright Spot for Gap in Second Quarter
The women’s active apparel banner grew revenues 6% in Q2 ended Aug. 1 to $267 million from $252 million, in what was otherwise a dismal quarter for parent Gap Inc. E-commerce sales accelerated from Q1’s 49% growth pace to a 74% improvement in Q2, more than offsetting a 45% decline in brick-and-mortar sales as many mall locations remained closed for the beginning of the quarter.
