Athleta Inches Higher in Q2


Gap Inc.’s women’s active apparel banner posted sales of $344 million for the second quarter, up 1% over $341 million last year, as comps declined 8%. Sales slowed from last year’s 28% ramp up on softness in consumer sentiment moving from the athleisure boom back to occasion and work-based categories. Athleta sales made up 9% of GPS’ top line, which dropped 8% to $3.86 billion from the prior year.
