As New Tariffs Hit, Talks With China Not Settled Yet
With the first round of 15% tariffs hitting merchandise landing Sep. 1, several news organizations are reporting that China and the U.S. still have not agreed on the ground rules for scheduled Sep. talks to resolve the trade war. While the U.S. continues to insist that the talks are on track, it wants to establish parameters for this round of talks that have not been agreed to. Meanwhile, China has suggested it won’t sit down unless these new tariffs are lifted and it has filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization protesting the tariffs.
