As Contentious Midterms Loom, Industry Sees Little Risk on Key Priorities


With the increasingly likely outcome of a Republican Senate and a Democratic House in 2019, SFIA remains confident that the potential for Congressional gridlock will not derail efforts to finally pass the PHIT Act that will expand the definition of deductible expense in HSA’s to include sports equipment as well as other fitness related expenses. The proposal continues to have strong bi-partisan support and could emerge as one of the few things the two parties agree on beyond passing the budget.
