April Retail Imports Beat Forecast, but Still Decline
Retail imports declined 7.8% to 1.61 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units in April, according to the NRF’s Port Tracker, but were better than the initial 1.51 million TEU estimate, and jumped 17% sequentially from March. The NRF opined that the quick bounceback is a sign that the fallout from the pandemic is abating faster than expected.
