Alpargatas Sees Havaianas, Mizuno Drive Q2 Gains
Alpargatas net income rocketed up 73% to R$31.6 million ($7.8 mm) for the second quarter of 2019 on a 12% gain in revenues to R$993.4 million ($243.8m) driven by double-digit growth in all businesses in Brazil, including Havaianas, the Mizuno license and Osklen. Same-store sales for the Havaianas and Osklen brands grew by 17% and 21%, respectively. Outside Brazil, a 14% percent increase in Havaianas’ international operations was driven by a particularly strong performance in the EMEA region.
