The two Speedfactory facilities will be closed by April of next year, barely four years after the first one opened in Ansbach, Germany and three years after the one in Atlanta, GA. The Big a will instead transfer the technology it has learned to two of its existing suppliers in Asia which it says will be more economic and flexible. Earlier this year, Nike shut down its partnership with Flex and transferred those learnings to its Asia factory base. Adidas will keep open its manufacturing lab for new technologies in Scheinfeld.
